Bummed Over Tour de France Disqualifications
June 30th, 2006
Check this out, these riders are now disqualified from this years Tour de France — which starts tomorrow, by the way — due to doping allegations:
- Jan Ullrich
- Ivan Basso - sorry ladies, no swooning over Basso this year
- Joseba Beloki
- Sergio Paulinho
- Isidro Nozal
- Allan Davis
- Alberto Contador
- Francisco Mancebo
- Oscar Sevilla
Man! I hope this doesn’t mean that all the drama around this year’s Tour has played out before the Prologue is even underway. What a bummer. This also screws up my Fantasy Tour picks that I had made, now I have to figure out how to switch up my roster with the remaining riders.

Yeah this is pretty crappy. With all of the heavy hitters out of the tour I am going to put my money on a last minute entry…Josh, the heavily tatooed bike messenger from Manhatten!
I actually thought it was more than nine riders that were pulled. There is an entire Spanish team that was not allowed to start because they only had 5 of their 9 riders (the other four wre DQ’d) and you need 6 just to start. Of course there are no last minute substitutions.

Oh yes, good to see james has commented. I was totally bummed about this. Especially jan. poor jan. Since 98, never quite pulled it off. Gotta stop eating the frys and mixing it up with dirty spanish doctors. World cup was fun to watch though. Especially the last minute retard head butt.
